Getting a Ph.D. or a Doctoral Degree

At BTU, international doctoral students may choose to prepare an individual doctoral thesis (not as part of a structured programme) or follow a structured PhD programme.

 

Application for a Doctoral Degree

Generally it is possible to complete a doctorate in all study courses at BTU.  Information regarding the degree programmes offered at BTU can be found on the BTU website.

A requirement for a doctorate is a completed tertiary education with a German diploma or an equal degree such as a Master’s degree that is based upon an undergraduate course resulting in a Bachelor’s degree.

Applications for all doctoral programmes are accepted at any time. There are no fixed application deadlines. The doctoral studies may also begin at any time.

Ph.D. - Environmental and Resource Management (ERM)
The BTU offers the Ph.D.-Programme "Environmental and Resource Management" at the faculty 4 (Environmental Science and Process Engineering).
