Student Activities - Opportunities for International Students

With 20% of its student population being foreign (ca.1000), the BTU Cottbus is far ahead of the national average of 12-13%. To ensure that our international students feel comfortable on campus and around town the Student Activities Office, run by the International Office, is the first contact point.
Mareike Kunze is the Student Activities Office contact person. As the contact person she provides students with advice and support for the planning of public and cultural events.
The International Office also works very closely with StuRa and the faculty student organizations (fachschaften), the city and the residents of Cottbus.
Student Activities
International Student Magazine "BTU BEACON"
The BTU Beacon is a campus newspaper that is published regularly. It is meant as a platform for the multicultural student body and aims to inform students about academic matters, as well as events of all kind. This newspaper supports and facilitates communication between student groups, international students and the habitants of Cottbus and the surrounding area.
Do you feel like supporting the Beacon with ideas, articles or pictures? If so, then, please contact us. We look forward to your contribution.
Excursions
Fürst Pückler the famous Cottbus landscape architect was well aware that travel broadens the mind. With this in mind the international office invites students to get to a know new country and new people. Not only are there trips to areas in the region like Neuzelle, Branitz and Spreewald but also to cities further away in Germany with significant cultural and historical values like Dresden and Weimar.
Every BTU student is welcome to join us. Due to the fact that we have limited space we would kindly ask you to write your name on the participants list in the international office once the travel dates have been finalized and announced.
