What role does the International Office play at BTU Cottbus?

The International Office is responsible for BTU Cottbus' international relationships, advising BTU students on study abroad opportunities, the admission and advising of international students, and the advising of university educators on the internationalization of teaching and studying. We are here to service students, university educators, scientists, and university administration.  
 

Areas of Responsibility

The following is a list of our responsibilities organized by target groups:


Prospective Students, Current Students, and Alumni

  • Prepare and advise full-time students (both German and international) for studies and internships abroad
  • Assist bachelor, master, and Ph.D. students with getting accepted to foreign universities
  • Mentor international students and doctoral candidates
  • Support the integration of internationals into society
  • Foster an international alumni network


University Educators

  • Assist in the procurement of funding for international projects; advise and support the university chairs in applying for international projects
  • Advise BTU employees about the internationalisation of teaching and studying
  • Organize ERASMUS exchanges of university lecturers

 

University Administration and Universities

  • Advise university administration on an internationalisation strategy
  • Advertise the university internationally and recruit students
  • Manage the contracts of international cooperation agreements
  • Manage international public relations
  • Organize the visits of delegates and assist international guests
