For several years BTU Cottbus has been conducting alumni surveys. From 2008 to 2010 the graduates of the academic years 2007, 2008 and 2009 were contacted and asked to participate. The response rate was on the whole very good; for this we would again like to thank the participants. The information about the careers of the graduates and their retrospective views on their academic experiences at BTU Cottbus in alignment to their professional requirements encountered so far are valuable in considering future curriculum developments and revisions.

During the winter semester 11/12 a follow-up survey will be conducted for the first time. Survey participants from the 2007 academic year (graduation in WS 06/07 and SS 07) who have declared their willingness to take part in such a follow-up survey will be contacted and asked about their present professional situation and changes since the first survey was conducted. Since four to five years have passed by now since graduation, they will again be asked about their retrospective views on their studies at BTU Cottbus with respect to present career requirements.

The survey will be conducted online. In October emails (sender:  astrid.buse[at]tu-cottbus.de) and letters with individual access codes and the address of the survey website where participants can fill in the questionnaire will be sent to the graduates. The  questionnaire is accessible either through the link given in the email or here on this site.

A high response rate is crucial for the success of the survey and the reliability of the results. Therefore, we kindly ask all graduates that will be contacted by us to participate in the survey. Once your answers are submitted, then they will be saved separately from the access code, meaning that your answers are completely anonymous; all regulations for data protection will be strictly observed.

The alumni survey is part of a larger  nationwide study coordinated by the International Centre for Higher Education Research  (INCHER) at the University of Kassel. Through this cooperation, BTU has the opportunity to compare and assess the results of its own survey with those of other universities.

[Translate to english:] Seit drei Jahren führt die BTU Cottbus regelmäßig Absolventenbefragungen durch. Angeschrieben wurden von 2008 bis 2010 jeweils die Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Prüfungsjahre 2007 bis 2009. Durch die überwiegend hohe Bereitschaft der Befragten zur Teilnahme, für die wir uns an dieser Stelle noch einmal bedanken möchten, konnten wichtige Informationen über den beruflichen Werdegang der BTU-Absolventinnen und Absolventen gewonnen werden. Ebenso wichtig sind die rückblickenden Einschätzungen zum Studium und dessen Relevanz für die jeweilige berufliche Situation. Die Ergebnisse der Absolventenbefragungen werden bei der Weiterentwicklung der Studiengänge berücksichtigt.

Im Wintersemester 11/12 wird nun erstmals eine Folgebefragung durchgeführt. Alle Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer der Befragung des Prüfungsjahrgangs 2007 (Studienabschluss im WS 06/07 und SS 07), die sich bei der Erstbefragung dazu bereit erklärt hatten, werden noch einmal angeschrieben. Sie werden gebeten, über Veränderungen ihrer beruflichen Situation seit der Erstbefragung Auskunft zu geben. Mit dem Abstand von nun vier bis fünf Jahren seit Studienabschluss werden sie um eine erneute Einschätzung des Studiums an der BTU und den Zusammenhang mit ihrer jetzigen beruflichen Situation gebeten.

Die Befragung erfolgt online. Die Briefe und Emails (Absender:  astrid.buse[at]tu-cottbus.de) mit der Einladung zur Teilnahme und den Zugangsdaten zum  Fragebogen werden Mitte Oktober verschickt. Mit dem jeweils persönlichen Zugangscode können sich die Teilnehmer entweder direkt in der Email oder hier in den Fragebogen einloggen. Der Fragebogen ist sowohl in deutscher als auch in englischer Sprache verfügbar.

Für den Erfolg der Studie ist eine hohe Beteiligung außerordentlich wichtig. Wir bitten daher alle Absolventinnen und Absolventen, die von uns angeschrieben werden, sich an der Befragung zu beteiligen. Alle Antworten werden selbstverständlich anonym ausgewertet, datenschutzrechtliche Aspekte werden streng beachtet.

Die Absolventenstudie wird im Rahmen eines  Kooperationsprojektes, an dem sich zahlreiche Hochschulen bundesweit beteiligen, durchgeführt. Das Projekt durch das Internationale Zentrum für Hochschulforschung  INCHER an der Universität Kassel koordiniert.
