Dean of Faculty 3

The Dean administers the Faculty; he/she is appointed for a period of four years by the Faculty Council.

The Dean is responsible for:

• all tasks within the department
• organising study courses and examinations, as well as coordinating research and teaching activities,
• academic issues
• administering university teachers as regards academic, planning and organisational issues
• making policy-level decision with respect to staff members of the department

His/her tasks are to:

• formulate concepts to develop the department
• distribute funds and staff positions on the basis of the results of ongoing assessments of academics and research activities
• compile the Faculty’s Teaching and Research Assessment Report
