As an interdisciplinary invested course of studies he is directed on the needs of new challenges in the job market. The research projects orientate themselves by 6 mega trends towards the lasting development, support and conversion of innovation-strategical measures in the health service: technological change, demographic rebuilding and change, globalisation and europeanisation, increase of chronic and psychic illnesses, increase of the health and illness expenses as well as the individuation of the life-styles. The non-consecutive course of studies is based on the knowledge and abilities of different Bachelor's ends and extends this individually. As a connection between medical and technical specialists a very wide working sphere discloses to the medical engineer.
An essential part of apprenticeship and research occurs in narrow cooperation with both biggest medical centres in Cottbus, the Carl Thiem Medical Centre and the Sana Heart Centre as well as the Helios Medical Centre Bad Saarow, the Landesrettungschule of Brandenburg, to the Tumour Centre of Brandenburg and numerous other regional partners. Aim of the Degree Programme
The study with a profile oriented to research should provide for students a respectable specialist knowledge and distinctive skills or knowledge of instruments and methods in a cross section discipline whose picture is marked in the health economy from the point of medical technology, the natural sciences, informatics, mathematics as well as economy, social sciences and jurisprudence. Students should be enabled to work independently academically, to arrange critically scientific knowledge, to produce own continuing contributions in the area of the medical technology and adjoining areas as well as to take over executive functions.

Together with partners of the health economy the course of studies introduces itself actively in the construction of the Brandenburg Academy of Health Sciences and Technology and accompanies here the process of the development of new teaching draughts as well as the investigation of questions of medical-technical draughts in the rural space. Under the example of the course of studies „health and technology - medical-technical future projects as innovative life companions" find studying numerous possibilities to introduce themselves in the strategical paradigm change in this area and to start with comprehensive knowledge and innovative mental attempts prepared, successfully in a career in science, economy, industry or politics.
