As an important economic factor in the prospering high tech area it offers excellent future chances for the job market. It develops together with medical partners and patients new procedures to the avoidance, recognition and treatment of illnesses and moves this in efficient devices. The course of studies for the shaping to the medical engineer connects lectures from the area of the medical technology, the medicine, biology, physics with offers from the information and communication technology, however, also from the economic area. As an interdisciplinary invested course of studies he is directed on the needs of new challenges in the job market. The research projects orientate themselves by 6 mega trends towards the lasting development, support and conversion of innovation-strategical measures in the health service: technological change, demographic rebuilding and change, globalisation and europeanisation, increase of chronic and psychic illnesses, increase of the health and illness expenses as well as the individuation of the life-styles. The non-consecutive course of studies is based on the knowledge and abilities of different Bachelor's ends and extends this individually. As a connection between medical and technical specialists a very wide working sphere discloses to the medical engineer. Aim of the Degree ProgrammeThe study with a profile oriented to research should provide for students a respectable specialist knowledge and distinctive skills or knowledge of instruments and methods in a cross section discipline whose picture is marked in the health economy from the point of medical technology, the natural sciences, informatics, mathematics as well as economy, social sciences and jurisprudence. Students should be enabled to work independently academically, to arrange critically scientific knowledge, to produce own continuing contributions in the area of the medical technology and adjoining areas as well as to take over executive functions. |
