International Outreach
An international approach to teaching and academics is a definitely one of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering's strong points; the faculty was instrumental in pioneering the first international degree programme at the BTU in 1998 (Bachelor, Environmental and Resource Management) and in 1999 (Master, Environmental and Resource Management) and it provided strong support for the World Heritage Studies programme (2001). This international approach is evident in the compulsory courses offered in English, an obligatory semester abroad for the Environmental and Resource Management Bachelor programme (unique in all of Germany!), close networking with partner universities (Environmental and Resource Management and EURO Hydroinformatics) and our successes in organising dual and joint degrees with Pakistan, India, Poland, Maxico, as well as a number of Western European countries in the context of the ERASMUS Mundus Programme. A number of cross-border issues and also addressed by internationally-oriented visiting professors and lecturers.
