A delegation of the Megacity Research Project TP. Ho Chi Minh, consisting of german and vietnamese partners attend the 4th SEA-EU-NET Stakeholders Conference taking place in Hanoi on the 16th and 17th of November. The conference is hosted by the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) in coordination with other SEA-EU-NET project partners. The project will participate in the sessions "Green and sustainable Cities" and "Water security/Community-based water management".

On the 18th of November a Workshop was held, entitled Implementing science-based Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change. It was organized by Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany together with SIHYMETE, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and is concerned with the results of the Megacity Research Project: TP. Ho Chi Minh – Adaptation to Climate Change, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Venue: Southern Institute of Hydrology Meteorology and Environment, 19 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 1, HCM City– 18th November 2011.

 

At the same day the official Presentation of the Handbook for Green Housing took place at the Department of Construction in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Megacity Research Project TP. Ho Chi Minh now officially cooperates with the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Upgrading Project (HUUP), especially in the fields of climate change adaptation, climate-oriented and energy-efficient housing typologies as well as community action planning.

CBA Handbook published

The handbook traces the adaptation approach of one local community in Ho Chi Minh City and makes the tools utilised available to other communities with a similar exposure portfolio, as well as to civil society organizations and local governmental institutions which can support adaptation processes within their own spheres of influence.
