Aim of the soil zoological investigations is the documentation and analysis of soil fauna succession of at Chicken Creek catchment. Hence, regular sampling is carried out since October 2005 in cooperation with the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz including the Testate Amoebae, Tardigrades, Nematodes, Collembolans und Mites. Since 2008, the Experimental Area adjacent to Chicken Creek catchment was included into the investigations. Special emphasis is put on immigration analysis, influence of the water supply as well as biotic interactions with plants or other faunal components.
